Conditions: Neurology

Every neurological condition presents a unique set of challenges and requires a comprehensive plan of care.  If you recently suffered from a stroke or know of someone who did, a stroke can cause severe complications in the brain and body, and can also be fatal.  It is important to seek medical attention immediately and explore treatment options.  Other common and painful neurological conditions are Migraine Headaches and Cluster Headaches.  There is no cure for cluster headaches but seeking treatment may relieve symptoms and reduce their frequency.  A typical migraine results in moderate to severe pain and can last from hours to days.  Migraines may be treated with pain-relieve medications and with rest in a darkened room.  People who experience migraines or cluster headaches regularly should see OCF’s neurologist to discuss the right type of medication for their treatment.

Parkinson’s Disease is a motor system disorder that is a chronic and progressive degenerative disease that interferes with movement, speech and other functions in the body.  Symptoms include trembling and stiffness of the limbs, slowness of movement and loss of balance and coordination.  Parkinson’s disease cannot be cured, but it can be managed by medications, physical therapy and speech therapy.
